Hot Cross Buns

“These soft, spiced Hot Cross Buns are a beautiful way to honor tradition on Easter morning. Warm, comforting, and perfect with a cup of tea. 🕊️”

Ingredients:

  • 3 ½ cups flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup raisins or currants
  • Icing: powdered sugar + milk

Instructions:

  1. Combine dry ingredients and yeast. Add milk, butter, and eggs. Knead dough.
  2. Let rise 1 hour, punch down, add raisins. Shape into balls.
  3. Let rise again 30 mins. Bake at 375°F for 18–20 mins.
  4. Pipe icing cross on top once cooled.
