Hot Cross Buns

“These soft, spiced Hot Cross Buns are a beautiful way to honor tradition on Easter morning. Warm, comforting, and perfect with a cup of tea. 🕊️”
Ingredients:
- 3 ½ cups flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- ½ cup raisins or currants
- Icing: powdered sugar + milk
Instructions:
- Combine dry ingredients and yeast. Add milk, butter, and eggs. Knead dough.
- Let rise 1 hour, punch down, add raisins. Shape into balls.
- Let rise again 30 mins. Bake at 375°F for 18–20 mins.
- Pipe icing cross on top once cooled.
